No. 3 Folding Kodet

The No. 3 Folding Kodet dates from the period 1894-1896 and only 625 were made for the British market. Today it is a very rare camera.
The camera can be used with plate holders as well as a roll holder, and takes photos of 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch (8 x 11 cm). This example has 3 double plateholders and a ground glass. These are stored in the back of the box and they can be reached by the door on top.
Through the door at the back, which is open in the video, the photographer could see the image on the ground glass.
It is a simple camera with few adjustments, which was meant for the amateur who didn't have much artistic pretentions. It also was a cheap alternative for the more robust and luxurious Folding Kodaks of the same era.
